An Announcement and a Tip about Goal-Setting
I am delighted to announce that the content that I am featuring on this blog site will also be available as blog posts on three other related sites, sites which are connected to a fabulous community resource for parents here in Ontario:
I am excited and grateful to be a part of these online communities! We have a cottage in Northumberland County, which is my connection to that actual flesh and blood community. Here's a link to the first blog entry I made at the other sites: "Where's That Inner Wisdom?"
I promise to continue to ensure that the posts I make here are geared toward professional women in stressful work environments, the people who are the focus of my website. It just turns out that most of what I write about can appeal to others as well.
With this new commitment, I will be blogging every other week. As you can see, that is much more frequently than I have been doing up until now. So, having committed to someone other than myself, I am looking forward to the challenge of meeting that commitment and being held accountable. The coach in me cannot resist pointing out the learning opportunity for us all here: committing to someone other than yourself is a powerful way of helping you reach a goal you have set for yourself. That is partly why coaching is so effective. However, you don't have to have a coach to make it effective; just pick someone in your life who will listen to your goal in a supportive manner and remind you about it, if you should ask them to. For more about goal-setting, see Caroline Adams Miller's very helpful book "Creating Your Best Life". She has a terrific "Goal Success Plan" in her book, which I have been using in my practice and for myself.
As always, I would love to hear how this material has affected you!
Happy Canada Day!
