20 Years Since I Became a Coach!

[Excerpt from my August 1 newsletter]

Hello!

I hope many things have gone well for you recently and that, if you're in the northern hemisphere like I am, you're savouring summer! This summer is special for me - it's 20 years since I became a coach!

I'm celebrating 20 years of "making room for you" and, in so doing, "making room" for me too.

Following my Intuition

The wave of intuition that washed over me when I read about this new profession of coaching back in 2004 was so powerful. I knew with all of my being that I could "make it me". (At the time I didn't know that this was really a self-actualization impulse. I knew nothing of the concept. It turns out that now many women create businesses that are "vehicles" for their own self-actualization.) So I took one step and then another and another, following the breadcrumbs of my interest and intuition... and here I am. Here we are. 🎉🎉🎉

Funny - "making it me" while I write this newsletter means writing it in between tossing the ball for my very enthusiastic puppy, Freya. She's continuing Raska's legacy of helping me come back to the present moment, to be playful and have fun...

20 Years, By the Numbers

...My puppy is finally napping beside me and I've just run some numbers from the last 20 years ...

  • 1000s of hours of coaching

  • 100s of clients - so much inspiration from them!

  • 100+ circles and workshops facilitated (or co-facilitated)

  • 4 weekend retreats

  • Multiple coaching, facilitation and leadership certifications

  • Several awards

  • Fun and growth and sense of purpose and relationships developed - infinite! ♾️🦋💃

Savouring

One of the things I'm proudest of (this is me savouring 😉 ) is my whole-hearted commitment to a "growth mindset" for myself, my family and my clients. It's a major ingredient in my not-so-secret sauce. Practicing a growth mindset (asking "what's the opportunity for growth in this challenge?") has helped me build so much more resilience and has also supported me in enjoying my life and work infinitely more.

I'm also feeling great gratitude for all the support and encouragement I've received over all these years from family, friends, clients and colleagues. Again, savouring. It feels so expansive to sink into this gratitude.

Looking into the future for a moment... I feel excited for what's to come, including more collaboration and growth into some new (and old) areas of expertise. More on all that in future posts!

For now, I'm headed back to the hammock, puppy's ball in hand.

Warmly, Milisa 🎉🎉🎉💃💃💃🦋🦋🦋
