The Power is Here Now 💛
Not surprisingly, I'm reflecting on love and hearts (and chocolate, of course) today. Maybe you are too?
A little heart anecdote 💛
I found this beautiful golden heart (pictured above) while walking on an Algarve beach in Portugal with my family during March break 2024. Finding this heart had a lot of meaning and magic for me and I've treasured it ever since.
A Song about the Power of Love 🎶
A couple of months later I heard this song for the first time at the Coralus UnSummit in Vancouver and it moved me to tears: The Power Is Here Now by Alexia Chellun. I highly recommend listening to it often. It makes me feel hopeful and encouraged.
Some of the lyrics 💫:
The power of love is here now
The power of love is here now
The power of you and me is here
To create magic on earth
The power of love is here now
Doubling Down on Small but Mighty Moments of Love
I find myself doubling down on the power of love in the face of the latest horror in the news, this time from a remote town in British Columbia, here in Canada. I can feel overwhelmed and powerless when absorbing such news... and then I remember that even the smallest act of kindness, connection and love counts, no matter what.
For some science behind this statement, have a look at one of these previous Valentine's themed posts from me about Love 2.0, the power of micro-moments of connection, even between complete strangers.
That little smile of solidarity when you trudge by each other in the snow, the knowing glances between mothers in the grocery store, a friendly exchange in line at the local coffee shop.
They feed us, nourish us.
They add up.
They are connection in the midst of an epidemic of loneliness and disconnection.
Here's to small but mighty moments of love and connection this Valentine's Day and beyond,
Warmly, Milisa 💛
